New Chevy Corvettes: 2007 Chevrolet Corvettes, Dealers And Price

Published: July 23, 2007
The arrival of each new year brings excited anticipation into the world of automobiles, when each car manufacturer introduces a new make of its most popular models, or sometimes a completely new model altogether. Those with a passion for cars undoubtedly take an eager interest in these new makes and models, noting each improvement, each difference, and comparing them with one another.
The Chevrolet or Chevy Corvette is a well-recognized model, and the new Chevy Corvettes for 2007 look very promising.
The new Chevy Corvettes have the same overall shape and construction as the original Corvettes, first introduced in 1953. They also have the same power source – cylinders with two valves each, and a V-8 with pushrods – that Corvettes have had since 1955. However, there are the new parts and materials required of modern car manufacturers, especially for the purposes of safety. But one of the great things about the new Chevy Corvettes is they are still generally lightweight, despite all of these added features. Yet the new Chevy Corvettes have surpassed the Corvettes of previous decades in nearly every aspect.
The new 2007 Chevy Corvettes are front-engine, rear-wheel drive vehicles with a capacity for two passengers. This Corvette price ranges from $44,995 to $70,000 at most Corvette dealers – considered an excellent price for its superior quality. It has a four-hundred horsepower engine, and a six-speed manual transmission. A six-speed automatic transmission, with steering column levers, can be added for $1,250 more. And according to the EPA's formula, the new Chevy Corvettes yield around twenty-eight miles per gallon.
The Z06 model of the new Chevy Corvettes is the most luxurious, including a Ron Fellows limited-edition version - the most expensive at $77, 500.
New Chevy Corvettes come in a convertible, and two different coupes: a fixed-roof, or a targa-roof. The "targa" style can be driven without a roof – like a convertible – but the roof is detachable; the convertible's roof is inside the car and can be flipped open. Each one of the new 2007 Chevrolet Corvette has two-toned leathered seats, a tire-pressure monitor, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control and many other impressive features.
There are two types of suspension systems in the new Chevy Corvettes – the Z51 Performance Handling Package or the Magnetic Selective Ride Control, both priced at $1,695. The more expensive Preferred Package 3LT has some luxurious amenities, including a Bose stereo system, hardware for XM Satellite Radio and a compass on the rear-view mirror. Even with all of this, one can still choose from random bonuses like DVD navigation, OnStar service or chrome wheels.
The new Chevy Corvettes have a keyless starting ability, which means sensors in the car will be able to detect the driver's key and automatically unlock the door, making it possible to get inside without the key. This can be a reassuring feature in potentially dangerous situations, or if the driver needs to leave in a hurry.
The new Chevy Corvettes are aesthetically pleasing, available in vibrant colors. They also feature considerably lighter headlights than those of Corvettes from previous decades, due to improvements in lighting technology. The new Chevy Corvettes' grilles are lower, allowing more air beneath the hood. The bodies of the new Chevy Corvettes are graceful and streamlined, with a "hydro-formed" aluminum frame. They are well-balanced, both visually and in terms of the new Chevy Corvette's weight, and there are virtually no changes in their appearance from their 2006 predecessor.
The only flaws in the new Chevy Corvettes seem to be the unnecessary Bose stereo controls on the steering wheels' hubs, and the distracting figures on the head-up displays. Fortunately, the expanded storage spaces behind the back seats and in the glove boxes in the new Chevy Corvettes are a significant improvement over past generations of this vehicle. And the new Chevy Corvettes have a far smoother feel while driving - much smoother than the earlier Corvettes.
For those interested in purchasing new Chevy Corvettes, it is best to be clear with Corvette dealers as to what exactly one is looking for, and what one can do without. It is easy to be confused by the various types with all of their high-tech features.
Considering their safety, efficiency, luxury, speed, beauty and relatively low pricing, it would be hard to go wrong with the new Chevy Corvettes. The only difficulty would be choosing from among the stunning models available!
